The
HemaClear® Advantage
The HemaClear® achieves 150% more efficacy in less than
12 seconds and assures better patient safety. It is the first
advancement in exsanguination technology in over 100 years, supplying
the market with an innovative simple device.
HemaClear® for Limb Surgery
The HemaClear® is a simple innovative solution for blood
free surgery; it expels up to 95% of the blood, blocks arterial
in-flow and spreads a sterile barrier over the limb in less
than 12 seconds. The HemaClear® is OHK's first commercial
product and the company has already sold more than 70,000 units
worldwide.
The HemaClear® is designed to provide a clear sterile
field for either proximal or distal upper & lower extremity
operations. It comes in four sizes with circumference ranging
from 14-90 cm. It is maintenance-free single-patient sterile
device. It replaces the Esmarch bandage, the pneumatic tourniquet
cuff, the padding used between the cuff and the skin, a sterile
cover, or cleaning and sterilization; as well as the pneumatic
hardware (including compressor, regulator, tubing, and periodic
calibration), , It also replaces the U-Drape and the sterile
stockinet. The preparation of this long list of elements prior
to surgery requires precious time, trained personnel and is
a source of errors and frustration. The enthusiastic acceptance
of the HemaClear® by the OR stuff (techs, nurses, PAs)
is a clear testimony to the logistic benefit of the HemaClear® over
the traditional technology.

The HemaClear ® is superior to the available competing
solutions and offers both clinical and economical advantages:
| • |
Clear
visibility,
up to 95% exsanguination compared to 65% with the current
technique, reducing the amount of stagnant intra-vascular
blood left behind to clot 1 2. |
| • |
Sterile
single use for assisting
in prevention of surgical site contamination 3. |
| • |
Saves
up to 15 Minutes of Prep
and Surgery time and cuts down up to 80 pre and intra-operative
steps in a typical case from the overall procedure processes
4. |
| • |
Factory
calibrated Provides consistent
pressure with no reported case of tourniquet paralysis
(compared with incidence of 1:4200 using the pneumatic
tourniquet) 5. |
| • |
Reduces
the volume of ischemic tissue. The HemaClear® can be placed closer to
the surgical field (e.g. forearm for hand surgery, instead
of upper arm; calf instead of thigh for foot and ankle
procedures) thereby reducing the amount of tissue (muscle,
skin, nerves etc) that lack oxygen supply during surgery. |
